Do you want to invest into property-backed loans on EstateGuru and earn up to 12% of interest per year? In this article, I will lead you through the sign-up process so you have an idea of what to expect.

The registration on EstateGuru is very user-friendly, however, if you are just starting out, you might have some questions which I will answer in this blog post.

Who can register on EstateGuru?

EstateGuru offers investment opportunities for anyone over 18 years old with a European bank account, meaning that you can reside in the United States, Canada or in the UK and still be eligible to invest in real-estate projects on EstateGuru.

Requirements to sign up on EstateGuru:

  • Over 18 years old
  • European bank account
If you aren’t from Europe or you don’t have any European bank account, you can simply open a borderless bank account with Transferwise. Read how to do it in my Transferwise review. Note that you need a European IBAN number to be able to invest on EstateGuru.

In this step-by-step guide you will learn the exact process of how to sign up on EstateGuru in 2019.

1. Register

First you will need to register with your email address. Make sure you register as an Investor. Choose a password that you can remember as you will need to use it to log in to your EstateGuru account after you complete the registration.

EstateGuru offers you also the possibility to sign up with your Facebook as well as Google accounts. Note that you will need to grant permission to EstateGuru to access your data from Google or Facebook.

2. Confirm your email

After you have submitted your email you will need to verify that this email address is yours. In a few minutes you should receive a message from EstateGuru, asking you to confirm your registration.

Click on the link in the email to verify your email address.

3. Complete your profile

In the next step you will need to fill in some basic information as your name, residence country and mobile number.

To redeem the referral code click on this link. You will receive a cashback of 0,5% on your portfolio. Here is more information about the EstateGuru referral code.

When typing in your mobile number, make sure it’s accurate and it has the country code of the country where you reside.

 

Tip

If you are traveling or living somewhere else (outside of the country of residence), choose a residence country where your phone number is registered to be able to receive the verification code on your mobile phone. You can change the residence country in your investor’s profile at a later stage. You can use this workaround if you, for instance, reside in Canada but have a European phone number.

Optionally you can enable the 2-step authentication, meaning you will get a code to your phone, every time you log in. Make sure to tick the additional checkboxes if applicable.

4. Verify your phone number

In a few seconds, you will receive a code to your phone, which you will be asked to insert into a field on the screen.

5. Verify your identity

Every investor on EstateGuru needs to verify its identity. EstateGuru offers you two methods of how you can get verified.

You can upload your documents manually or use the quick verification service Veriff. The manual verification method can take up to 48 hours while the second option only takes a few minutes.

6. Upload your documents

Depending on your country of residence you can use various identification documents to prove your identity. In most countries you can use your passport, national ID card or your driving license.

7. Verification with Veriff

I suggest using the quick verification method. It will only take a few minutes. You will be asked to take a selfie followed by a picture of your passport as well as a picture of you holding the identification document.

8. Finish up your registration

In the last step, you will need to add some additional information about the purpose of your investment.

Here is a list of fields you will need to fill out

• Planned investment amount per month
• Occupation
• Source of funds
• Average monthly income
• Politically exposed person (no)

Note that that information should be accurate, however, EstateGuru won’t demand any proof of it and you are also not obliged to invest a certain amount to your EstateGuru account every month.

Your information is secured

The P2P platform needs to ask you that information to comply with the anti-money laundering laws. All the information you provide is confidential and EstateGuru isn’t allowed to give that information to third parties without your written consent (except governmental authorities).

If you are using your Transferwise account to transfer funds to EstateGuru, you will need to send your IBAN number manually via email to info@estateguru.co. You will receive an email saying, your IBAN isn’t verified yet – to verify your IBAN simply reply to this email.
